As reported by a Brazilian journalist, Hugo Chavez Remains in Serious Condition. He was submitted this morning to an exploratory laparotomy.

The president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, was submitted this morning in Havana to an exploratory laparotomy that revealed that his health status is more complicated than anticipated; the Brazilian journalist that reported ten days ago an anticipated deterioration in the health of president.

According to Pereira, without citing its sources, all day the doctors were examining Chavez’s exams and also they exchanged information with his doctors from Moscow.

The objective of this consultation would “know what is the best procedure in the case, which appears to be more complicated than previously announced,” the journalist in his blog. Pereira said there is “at least one Brazilian doctor” participating in surgery.

According to the journalist, exploratory laparotomy serves “to determine if new tumors” and “if there are conditions for a new surgery.”
