Facebook with Technology Leaders Launch Internet.org

Today, Facebook announced a new project called Internet.org, it is a global partnership between technology leaders, nonprofits, and local communities who are working together in connecting the rest of the 5 billion people in the world that don’t have access to the internet.

Mark Zuckerberg posted a Facebook status saying, “For nine years, we’ve been on a mission to connect the world. We now connect more than 1 billion people, but to connect the next 5 billion we must solve a much bigger problem: the vast majority of people don’t have access to the internet”.

The Internet is extremely important in developing the success of a country. It not only allow us to connect with friends, family, and people all around the world but also helps the
foundation of the global knowledge economy.
