Find Film Locations Fast and Easily, Scoutplex

By on March 2, 2015

Filmmakers are always constantly looking for unique film locations for their projects. Scoutplex provides the ability to find those unique locations from many different property owners.

Scoutplex

Scoutplex is the new process to find films locations for movies, commercials, short films, music videos, etc. It is sort of the new Airbnb for film locations rentals. This new startup makes the process extremely easy and cuts the time of finding property owners willing to rent their properties for filming.

Now, property owners have the ability to expose their properties to the film industry for free. All they have to do is take a few pictures of their properties, upload them to Scputplex, write a description, and click submit. It does not get any easier than that.

Moreover, the best part is that you can rent out any type of property/location such as a house, cabin, farm, land, bar, restaurant, etc. Since the film industry is always looking for unique locations that will fit perfect for their projects, they need a great variety of locations.

Turn Your House Into Another Form of Income:

If you rent your house for filming, it can be extremely lucrative. According to an article published on the LA times, many houses request $2,000 to $3,000 a day as locations, and the rates have been known to climb as high as $25,000 a day.

“The highest I ever got paid was $10,500 for a day of filming, but $5,000 to $6,000 is normal for a 14-hour day at my size house,” said the woman who owns the 7,000-square-foot mansion where “Drug Wars” was shot.

It should be interesting to see if Scoutplex can gain traction in the film locations rentals. The startup will no doubt face competition from others. However, its simplicity and user-friendless seems to be their advantage.
